How To Draw Jeans

Originally I wanted to draw some funky looking pants (previous post) and they ended up looking velvety because I added purple color in it. While working on this tutorial I used blue color, and it ended up looking like jeans.  And GOOD! I never was able to draw a real looking pair of jeans.

Maybe it’s just me, but when think of velvet, I imagine warm colors, dark reds and purple. But you guys use whatever color that makes you happy. So here we go.

Step 1- Draw your figure.

Step 2- Pick a color and fill in the center part of your jeans in a zig-zag motion.

Step 3- Use darker color to fill in the rest of the pants and don’t be afraid to go over the other color, same in zig-zag motion.

Step 4- Get your color that you picked and go over the whole figure once again, to make sure to fill in all the white spots.

Step 5- Use an ink pen or a marker to outline your pants with non straight untidy line to give your drawing a texture. You can also use white prismacolor pencil to go over your pants with broken lines, for wrinkly look.

And voila, you got your jeans :) You can click on each image to view it bigger.
